I was reading a familiar story
Gripping is the tale in the telling
The art is in the selling
Of so much promised glory

The beginning like so many others
No better or no worse
I could recite, chapter and verse
Just a tale like every single other

I thought I knew where it was going
Until the plot changed
The characters rearranged
As a storm wind came blowing

Darkness colored all the words
Despair echoed all around
In every read aloud sound
A shriek of pain is all I heard

I can no longer read and remember when
The tale became cold as death
With a sudden heart freezing breath
I want to skip chapter and verse, to the end

"the art is in the selling of so much promised glory"

i feel like this line had the most meaning, though not in-your-face

one of those every eye to determine for itself type deal

loved it

Sounds like chapters from the Bible..

but that's just my take.

Well done, Sir!

I Love it so much! i have been reading it many times, and it just keep getting better
We all want to skip over the worst part to the end, just to see that it end good.
I think it is really good, because it say so much, more then you think maybe, every person will look at this in a diffiret way and have diiferent thoughts, it say a lot without saying to much
