In the absense of color
the trees in remiss
of their sleeves
the stones have grown cold
and the waves are collapsing

the gulls soon abandon
the shells are set free

the air loses touch
to indifference

as some struggle on
to the promised land

and some feel the lure
of the sea

The struggle is felt so deeply. Emotions flow abundantly through your stunning words, dear Michele.

In rise and fall, the ebbing of her beauty can not be resisted, desirable!
