Nothing But Silence

You gave new meaning to the word, LOVE
You took my breath away the night we met
The more time we spent together
The more I fell in love with you my dear man

Sometimes, the tears start to flow once again
When I think of you and all we had shared
Often times I just sit here in a daze
Wondering what I could have done different?
Still to this day I have no answers
How could something that felt so right
Suddenly go so wrong?

What happened to the forever more?

Loneliness surrounds me every day and night
There doesn’t seem to be any meaning
Nothing for me to look forward to
Just an empty house with nothing but silence

This certainly sounds like it's straight from the heart.  If it is, you're better off without him, if he walked away without explanation.  He probably was unable to recognize the beauty of the "Rose" he held.

God bless,

It is hard to be clueless, isn't it? For when you know reasons, you might find solutions... and even if that possibility's slim, it's better than nothing.

Beautiful write of ache!!

You have done a masterful job of conveying that kind of loneliness, Sweet Sue. Anyone who could crush the petals of Oklahomas Finest Rose, is not worth his weight in salt, to my way of thinking!

Sending love and a warm hug,

Linda

Dear Sue, this is a beautiful heart write. But it is good to know you don't always linger in the past, those are just moments.

The present holds new opportunities to love and to fill the nights with whispers anew ...

Love and hugs.

Hello Sue,
I just joined PIP today so am wandering around trying to get my bearings and saw Oklahoma Rose and was delighted. I love the poem. You ended it perfectly. I know how loud that silence can be. Excellent write my friend.
