You always knew my heart by heart. There isn't anything to say that will change the past time has lapsed into remission and I am safe in my dreams nothing has tarnished my memories so clear and vivid, so real and true. I search out the sky looking for signs the clouds are heavenscaped wind swept in sheer blue embracing the love. It is there I can almost feel your touch like the softest clouds brush and trace my lips, I feel the breeze as your breath in a whispered hush. When the night is falling all around me you settle me in harmony cradled in your arms beneath a canopy of stars. You are the beam of light a safe harbor in heaven and when our tears mingle in the rain you are the gray coverlet in the shadows ever near and dear. As I lie in the warmth of the sun you come to mind drawing the shades in solitude resting on my lashes fluttering on a wing and prayer carried out to sea. You always knew my heart by heart. |
