The Reason I Was Asking

The times I wrote to you
I had waited for your reply
Being ignored obviously
I had often wondered why

The reason I was asking
If I had crossed your mind
Having nothing to go by
Answers were hard to find

Silence tells me nothing
I hoped you would explain
Can you answer me this
Will I hear from you again

Silence is never the way
A friend is supposed to be
Thats why I wrote to say
You mean so much to me

Dear Hope, no matter how much time passes, this kind of silence will always hurt when you put your mind on it. You write intensely of your pain. Hopefully there will be answers ...

Love,

Hope

It is good to see you here.

I have always enjoyed your poetry for its depth.  No one should have to bear a goodbye in silence.   Excellent write.

Oh, my dear sweet Hope ~

"Silence is never the way
A friend is supposed to be"

~ No, it most assuredly is not.
If this plaintif plea is based on a personal experience, then I would say that your 'friend' doesn't appreciate how fortunate they are to have someone like you, caring for them.

Sending my love and a warm hug,

Linda

This is very smoothly done.  I like the form, and the emotion you generate.  I think it speaks to everyone, because we've all been ignored at one point or another.  And it always hurts.

I, too, liked this line:

"Silence is never the way
A friend is supposed to be"

...makes you stop & think...a good thing...

Beautifully expressed and the emotions brought forward.  Very much enjoyed and I like your reason at the end.

You've written the pain of such wondering very well... beautiful work!
