I see across a sea of formless sand
Shapeless in its eternal waves upon the earth
The time glass source of all mankind
That beckons to heaven for its plight
Salvation for huddled masses, clothed in rags
Besotted by ideology gone astray
In the constant heat of war and death
Shamans and martyrs
Fakirs and true believers
All toiling amongst the decrepit ways
Trying to bridge the gap to tomorrow
With leaders spouting platitudes
And false prophets spewing words of hate
Venom disguised as religion
When they only worship the almighty dollar
The seduction of ultimate power
Self serving for their own lusts
Enflaming the people, enflaming the land
Red and orange fire outlined in black smoke
Wreathed in blood
Spilled upon the sand
All burning, burning, burning
Everything consumed in fire

My word, Romance Man, your quill hath surprisingly penned of those hellfires, rather well! ~ The surprise be in the subject matter ~ not in your ability to write well on any given subject!

Excellent write!

Thanks, like I said on Suncleaver's dark poem, you and he inspired me to come out of my shell, so to speak with my dark themed ones.
I've been kinda worried about posting them here for fear people would think something was wrong, but then...nobody knows me anyway, so what the heck? lol

Your vision is both memorable and magnificent!! I love this... and am so glad EA and Suncleaver inspired the posting. All facets of your pen are incredible. *S*

"And false prophets spewing words of hate
Venom disguised as religion" this is so very true. Hate, Hate and some more hate is fed to innocence souls. Dark shedding some light, exceptional.

"Venom disguised as religion
When they only worship the almighty dollar"

Such true words, so well put. The viper of life that we fight to separate ourselves from. Wonderfully expressed!

Nothing wrong Jerry,

I think a great poet, or writer, is one who is changeable, very creatie, imaginative,
bwing able to write any form, any emotion, or expression.

I just posted a dark one, life is good and evil, we can't always life in fantasy land,
somethimes there is a harsh reality!
