From the Bowels of Hell
by Linda L. Dowd

Galloping across the barren moor,
on a snorting, midnite steed,
A horseman from the bowels of hell,
sought souls on which to feed.

Demonic eyes of glowing red,
did pierce the dead of night.
Searching for its hapless prey,
~ Too mortified to fight.

The banshees wailed as evil claimed
the souls of man and beast.
There trailed behind ~ a river of red,
in the wake of voracious feast.

An acrid smell assailed the air.
The peat was soaked in blood.
Those not slashed by wield of sword,
were trampled down deep in mud.

Galloping across the barren moor
on a snorting, midnite steed,
A horseman from the bowels of hell,
sought souls on which to feed.

Not very friendly man Linda, he looks cools for a bad man. Reminds me of the Ghost rider. A horseman from the bowels of hell. Wow, love it.

I prefer the other side of our Earth Angel but I guess we have to acknowledge the dark to appreciate the light.  I hope I'm never "too mortified to fight".

Here's to the light!

This is an absolute killer Linda.

And I thought I could be dark...

Things to do tomorrow:

1, Acquire midnite steed
2, Acquire ethereal blade
3, Drown mankind in crimson waves of the tears of war.

Demonic eyes of glowing red,
did pierce the dead of night.
In search for its hapless prey,
~ Too mortified to fight.

You beautiful Angel Princess, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to write about so many different things and present them in such faultless style.I am going to do something here that I never do with other people's poems  but the rythme of your poems are always so perfect that I couldn't help myself. I inserted prey instead of victims as a single syllable word keeps the meter perfect. I hope you are not offended by me in doing this.
Love you dear friend.
