I may have told you before
the last time I saw god she was 5' 10"
and had red hair.
Well,
life has given me a new image
I would also like to share,
god in Ray Ban's
wearing a beer stained Hawaiian shirt
chanting,

ring of fire
pagan dancer,
vacant promise
supplications empty of remorse
painted desire in a mother's tears,
ring of fire
caustic answers circling a sad romance,
ring of fire
chanting torches,
cold rivers marching
flowing roses,
churlish curling swirl,
come to me,
come to me;

for some
Jesus really is the answer,
or so the bumper stakes its claim;
depends on how the question's asked
reflecting who it might defame.
What if there's a heaven where no one runs the show,
if a bumper really could speak truth
how would a bumper know
immortality only means
escape is an illusion?

Yet,
life has meaning,
and it is simple.
We exist to learn;
by learning we may grow
and by growing
we may come to know;
by knowing
we may learn
enough to satisfy
the greatest curiosity,
the pure simplicity
of understanding,
and then,
you see,
when that is done
we are free.

...perhaps this is why the Rabbi was quoted as saying the following so many years ago:

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

...and, it is that quest for truth that makes living our lives worthwhile...a very insightful, provocative write...nicely done

G'mornin!
Another one to think on. (I'll be back for another whirl after a steamy cup of java)

~~and each day I am becoming more free~~ I wonder sometimes why it took this long to feel that way.

There's a lot to think about here, Mr. Ice.
I have also come the conclusion that we are here to learn, simply because, that's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I lerve Martie's reply!

And you are such an intrigue, always.

Thanks Jo, for pointing this one out to me--there's many possible ways to take this one, so let me just sigh in admiration.

"life has meaning,

We exist to learn(!)" ...

interesting thought!

    Strange Attractor

Time is a whirlpool ...
a confused mixture
of illusion and reality
that draws us into infinity

"Time flies?
ah no ...
Time stays,
It is we
that go!"

fine 'write'!

I enjoyed this one.  But I have to tell you, if we get to heaven and no one is in charge, too many of us would try to take over.  After all, someone has to sweep those streets of gold.
