There is a gift within us all
Of sharing inner thoughts and feel
Not harmful as it passes on
But something that does give and heal

Not everyone does share this gift
Not knowing that it waits within
All missing out on its surprise
And cheerfulness it does begin

It does not cost a penny
Or make you feel you’ve drained your might
It puts you in a place of care
And makes that moment shared feel right

It’s something that is given free
From face to face and carried on
A soul exchange that gives some warmth
A moment where two lives belong

I smile to you and you to me
Contagious as it fills the day
For now the smiles seem everywhere
Giving joy along the way

Strange, I've just read a poem about smiles; a seed that germinates to a feeling of well-being. There's smiles and there's smiles, we all know the real thing, and that never goes amiss. Thank you for your poem.

A smile begets a smile.
It's a gift that keeps on giving!

Sending smiles across the miles!
