  Stonehenge (#1)
[Summer Solstice]

Parting company
with the cryptic
   clouds,
a solemn red sun,
sets beyond these
grand-enigmatic
‘standing stones,’
that whisper only
to the clear mind
  and heart,
(in fossil-echoes
haunting time)
of  lives and
purpose…
long forgotten,
‘til a most bemusing
   Moon,
temps a Celtic spirit
shadow-dance...
across this ancient,
verdant, mist-laced
   plain.

grand-enigmatic? Yes, indeed, the mysteries they hold, fire the imagination.
A fine tribute to The Stones, with a real feel for the 'living earth'.
