Even though I am apprehensive, I still approach you for affection,
Cautiously I come to you, constantly fearing your rejection.

Over and over I give you the chance, to prove your love to me,
I take it when I get it, but it’s never a guarantee.

I’ll never understand all this, aren’t daddy’s supposed to adore you?
When I need you, won’t you be there for me, daddies do not ignore you!

All the kids at school have dads who come and show everyone they care
Sometimes I wish that were you too, and that you would be there

What do I do when I’m older, do I act he same?
I don’t know anything else, so you are to blame.

I’ll raise hell around town and get your attention
Concern is something you forgot to mention

And when you’re yelling and trying to make me understand
Remember love is an emotion not a command

Secretly I’ll wish that I could be everything you wanted
And later in life that feeling will leave me haunted

Those scraps of love you gave me, well they weren’t enough
I’ll grow into a bitter person, who will always be too tough

I’ll never feel completely as other people do
And I’ll never know unconditional love, and its all because of you.

~ History often repeats itself. However, you are aware of that fact, and I don't believe that what your father has done unto you, you will do unto others.

After reading the poem that you wrote for your sister, Rani, I know that you are full of love and know how to express it.

Love & Light,
EA

Thank you. I inspired by a friend who at the time was explaining to me how her children's father treated their son who is autistic....they were in the middle of a divorce....I believe he was frustarted that his son was differnt from other kids, and therefore was keeping him at a distance....which was sad for me to hear. I can only imagine growing up the son will feel this way.

Remember love is an emotion not a command

What a powerful truth... one that's too often forgotten, especially when abuse or neglect are involved.
