Sometimes I feel the need to sink
Letting the currents carry me forth
To immerse myself in thoughtful drink
Further from my solid anchored shore
Hoping this time is not too late
For time tends to contaminate

One of these journeys I will not return
Led too deep and too far to see
My faithful island, my only concern
Lost within my lost reason to be
I watch as these thoughts duplicate
To fight them all and to obliterate

The colors fade to nothing at all
And silence becomes a physical pain
The fog rolls in, becoming a wall
Held together by thoughts it contains
Within, a process that does not deviate
Only grows, fed when I concentrate

Circumstances, being what they may be
Still looking for a million lost things
Seeking for the missing pieces of me
No matter the finality that finding brings
In the meantime I’ll defer to fate
And take pleasure as I separate

There's sadness in this voyage of self-discovery... but also great strength to face whatever comes. This is most excellent, my friend!!

hmmm...the format you use reminds me of Sy, the emotion is different though..

and the use of all the names tells me you are probably not new here..

I enjoyed your writing very much.
