Touches

Brush softly,
                 this whisper . . .
the whisper     of admire
  resting between passion
and the eyes of desire
I imagine being alone
         stretched across the skin
of rivers
a drop of dew through glass
the hands of trees,   of green --
even fall        like memory
  between storms
I lay waiting, listening    --
        I pray for the dream
to remember:
The canvas     of myself
  longing --
           for the color of life
to stroke lyrics
      across my lobes--

in song

         of acceptance
at the feet of anticipation

the moment green (for the sea)  touched blue (for the sky)
around such edges   of evenings
where sky dances
~
I must mention
we are made of fragments
we drift --
leave imprints--
walk the journey --
trying to touch it all
on silver wings

we try to touch the rivers bend
        the season of air between
palm and prayer

the press of body
between grain and sand   ---
yes that moment--this moment--
such as memories

these memories
bring a lesson

a lesson where we learn
     to listen      with our eyes
             to feel      with our heart
                    and see      with our ears

gracing us with wisdom--
the wisdom of nature

and it's secrets
that lead to a peaceful soul
and an acceptance of self

these memories, that which I've become
pale ash
       reflections of dawn--
darkness of stolen nights
~
no matter where this all began
it ends here --on the edge of soul

           in you, in me
laced with remnant stars
  when I touched your hands
to the grace of clay
having lost my soul
slow the rain will fall once again
on mirrored lake
while I drift
in some passing memory

         somewhere--
a crumble of stone
returns to calm

Greenyes ( Lauren )

I had a lovely reader's drift through this with the images coming to mind easily.
You are a superb pair to create together.

"I must mention

trying to touch it all
on silver wings"

Well, I have a few fragments out there that I wonder where they are and why I rememebr them. Some good some bad.

Loved it!

I first chose the same lines ethome did... but these slide even deeper under the skin. *S* Magnificent collaboration... it's totally seamless!!

What a beautiful blending of your talents here.  Such imagery, such striking command of emotion and utility.

I loved this...and especially this:

"...I must mention
we are made of fragments
we drift --
leave imprints--
walk the journey --
trying to touch it all
on silver wings "

Incredible write!

Now that was some do-it - especially loved the lesson in these lines, as it reminded me of my own journey of discovery.  One you get this down - it's hard not to feel small in the scheme of things.

These memories
bring a lesson

a lesson where we learn
     to listen      with our eyes
             to feel      with our heart
                    and see      with our ears

gracing us with wisdom--
the wisdom of nature

Well done you two!

Is it insulting that while reading this my mind wondered off on forbidden thoughts?

The intimacy of this was pretty damn stunning...

Susan - Poetry should be felt when read and you evidently felt something from this, so no insult at all. I am glad you were able to be absorb into the words and I thank you dearly.

I picked the most perfect time to be able to get in here to read!  Two of my favorite poets and people writing a most seemless blend of pure beauty together, what a treat.  Gosh, I've missed reading you both.
Ya'll done good with this one!  Hugs, luv, and peace, ~D
