a bruise mars back of my right hand
lack of coordination’s brand

because the wind

seduced me into joyous dance
music beckoned, promised romance
I responded to siren call
should I have known that I would fall?

purple blotch darkens tender skin
and pain radiates from within

feeling the wind

feet had the lightness of my heart
I slipped around a hot dog cart
enjoyed pirouette of pretend
as I whirled blithely with the wind

then clumsy step gave bulging knot
I howled and yelled, whimpered a lot

because the wind

blew my hair right across my eyes
blinded, I didn’t realize
that my next sway would bring my hand
whacking against a garbage can

I shuffled off, my lack of grace
put me back firmly in my place

in awe of wind

gorgeous writing!

when the wind blows here, the roof of this old trailer sounds like it's about to blow off

wish I could enjoy it but it scares me

May I kiss the hand of the fair maiden, to quell the pain and lighten the heart?

Tiss a sadness to see such beauty harmed.

Hope you get better soon.

Love, Tracey.

Oww! I bet that hurt. I must concur with Tracey... but, if one starts slightly further up... it doesn't actually take away the pain... it just takes your mind off it for a while.
Nicely whimsical penning, Milady.

pirouette! Ha ha  I loved this because it reminded of the one I did coming out of Bennigin's with my husband one day. The wind threw a curve and I went with it off the bottom step. I twriled and saved a fall   to the applause of few bystanders. I almost felt I should have taken a bow. LOL late.

PS: I would have been scared if I'd been inside a place threatening to disintegrate on me. *S* But I was outside and the sun was shining, the sky so blue it pierced my soul... and the wind wanted a playmate. *G* Thank you so very much... I'm treasuring that "gorgeous!" *S*

Ah, sweet Tracey... *graciously extending hand*... my mother always swore a kiss made booboos better. *G* And your response definitely lightened my heart... thank you! *S*

Windhover: I like your ideas for thought diversion! *S* Thank you so much, gallant sir! *S*

late: I think your "dance" was much more graceful... and you SHOULD have taken a bow! *S* This isn't the first time I've let my insanity loose in public... /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayarchive&number=44&topic=003312 (and probably won't be the last. LOL) I'm glad you enjoyed... thank you! *s*

Magnus!! It's great to see you, my friend... and I'm honored you gave me your first post back! Thank you so much! *S* And... since this is a confessing type poem, I'll admit... a couple of margaritas bought both numb and a silly grin. LOL Muah! Welcome back! *S*

Eloise: I wish I was... Wyoming is beautiful... much more so than city streets! *S* Thank you so much! *S*

and, yet, the wind

blew your poem to me
mesmerized me
with its generosity

and made me smile
at the talent of you.

Alison: You just sent my spirits soaring... and there wasn't even a breeze. *S* Thank you so much! *S*
