The clown cried today,
in the fat lady’s arms he cried.

Folds of fat a womb for a cold hard world.

Shivering and shaking his cries muffled by the towering tent,
and the astonished mutterings of a shocked crowd.

His son, flying so high fearless and free,
now a broken body on the ground,

blood and bones mixed with popcorn and elephant waste.

The clown cried today,
in the fat lady's arms he cried.

I sure understood this one as when I was young, a Barnum and Bailey Circus came to town, and I witnessed a fall, it was horrible!  I am hoping this is well done fiction.  Well done scene.

How sad this is - and how very well written.
