I thought it was probably time for me to put something a bit more cheery up, so here is a poem for my sister.

You came off rather ignominiously
It really went quite hideously
you should have viewed it much more cynically
And undertaken it much more clinically.

It was meant to be so hearty
you were telling me about karate
when you spilled the bloody latte
at this morning dinner party

It was intended honest fun
When you asked them all to come
But at a quarter past one
you could see the guests were done

The soup you served was cold
The meat should n’er been sold
the dessert was far too bold
If all truth were told

But your pans were made of plastic!
Including lego may have been drastic
But you thought it went fantastic
With those army men and elastic

x

In such an ugly time, beauty is the real protest

Thanks guys!  Glad it gave you a laugh.  It's dawned on me this may seem a little bonkers without the back story.

My dear sister from a very young age loved watching Ken Hom's cooking show and would always make me meals of random toys!  She is now an excellent cook!  I wrote this to cheer her up after she failed her driving test
