                    FIRST TIME
                      By Billie Cullimore

             "It's a Boy!" He shouted.
               With a big happy grin.
The months of waiting had come to an end.
            "It's a Boy." He repeated.
"And everythings fine. Now you'r a granny for
             for the very first time."

"A grandmother, me? I don't feel that old."
Then they placed in my arms this bundle to hold.
I gazed at his face so precious and sweet.
But,then."Good Grief! He's got his dads big feet."

Didn't think he'd make it through
              The terrable two's
I use to wonder what else he could do.
I sometimes thought the kid was kooky.
But he sure loved horses and
             a dog named Spooky.

Through the broken leg, blackeyes and nose bleeds.
Torn blue jeans and scraped up knees.
Some how he managed to grow up tall.
With cars and girls, and he has them all.

Life gives us heartach, trouble and strife.
But God, gave us love, laughter and light.
         With dimpled cheeks, happy eyes,
              and a smile sublime.
Oh! How sweet it is to be a
             "Granny, First Time."

Four grandsons,  Who would have thunk it?

Wonderfull poem, Great-Grandma,

Billie - your words express the proud grand parent you have become. Congratulations, and wishing you the best...
