Subtle winds
release sequestered spirits.

Drifting determinedly
down a restless river
beneath a veiled-light mountain,
a solitary soul seeks solace.
Thoughts float downstream,
ruffling the river-surface flow
past hidden eddies and agendas,
numerous but benign boulder-boundaries
that threaten to delay a seeker's departure
from would-be stagnant shallows.

Time and thoughts travel
timeless subtle winds
toward a universal sea,
seeking transcendence
in seas of tranquility.

Timeless subtle winds...that's a great phrase.
And to speak of transcendence, a very deep and cool poem to read.

Thanks for taking a moment to read and reply.
Meditation helps free the mind from the daily mind-grind of 'reality' moments.

So loved not just the meditation but also the misty pondering in this beautiful poem.  Your muse, sure is working overtime - much to my delight!

Thoughts float downstream,
ruffling the river-surface flow
past hidden eddies and agendas,

This was the best part of this. I would make a great opening stanza.

I guess that's where we all want to be heading. From a turbulent river(not sure you saw it that way)to a pacified ocean. A beautiful dream, but oceans are rarely subdued, especially where they meet rivers.
But I'm with you, in the beautiful dream.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this, poet friends!
(Osprey, true enough. Poetry allows us to 'tweak' the imagery, find new interpretations to 3D reality. LOL)
