Bones sleeps in the
second floor back room
of Mom’s row house.

He can look out his window
and see the black tar paper roof
covering the kitchen extension
to the house
that was put on back in 1943.

Before that time,
all cooking was done
in the fireplace
of the main room.

One night,
just before his fourteenth birthday,
Bones has a dream
that the black tar paper roof
had become a rolling sea
of black tar paper.

It appeared to be coming for him.

Bones would be murdered
within the week.

Bobby

You gave this sad poem quite an amount of suspense, dear Bobby.

Such a horrible end of this young life. And still his character moves the reader you see.
He lives on in a way and reminds us of what counts in life, which is love and respect for each other.

Love,
Margherita

Thanks dear Margherita,

For your kind words on Bones, and the poem.

This is modeled after a dream I had last night.  So if I'm dear by the end of the week, you'll know the asphalt on the roof and in the street finally got me.

Love Bobby

Bobby - I'm stunned by the ending of this writing. Is this indeed true...

Thanks Bill,

The Bones stories are based on the lives of two old friends I grew-up with.  One is well, and living up the street, and around the corner.  The other died in a tragic accident on the El here in Philadelphia.  Neither one of them was murdered.  However, they could have been.  People involved in "The Trade" often are.

Thanks James,

I'm very pleased that the poem worked for you.

Thanks for caring about Bones.

This is also about the view from my back window, and about my ancient old (100 years+) house.

Bobby/Bones: I'm hoping that was just a nightmare, nothing more. *S*

Thanks dear Suthern,

Yes, it was just a nightmare.  I've had quite a few of them over the years.

Thanks for your good wishes.

Thanks Yann,

Yes, Bones life was sad.  However, keep in mind this is all fiction.

No one deserves to be murdered like Bones is in the fictional story.
