Inner whispers
run around my head,
bouncing off the walls
of the private little universe
that sits on my shoulders.
I have been listening intently
to the soft murmur
of inspiration.
Contemplating notions
that tiptoe in and out,
forgetting
to close the door,
so that sleep creeps in
bearing a dream.

Wow, dear Ida, this is simply perfect. I just know what you mean!

... and if you remember the dream then the gift is granted!

Love,

My dear Ida Belle, I adore "the private little universe that sits on (your) shoulders."  ~ for from it comes some mighty intriguingly creative and contemplative thoughts!

Sweet dreams, my dear sweet friend!

Loveya!

Yo dear Ida,

Yes, that's the way sleep works all right.  It's sneaky.

Nice work on this poem.

a most fine 'write' ...

particularly the ending!:

those 'tiptoeing notions' AND:

"forgetting
to close the door,
so that sleep creeps in
bearing a dream."

much applause for this 'penning' !!

Ida,

I really like your poetry and this is among my favorites of yours.  I am glad that you share those inspirations in poetic form.

This is a keeper for sure.
