In the full moon's time,
In the dead of night,
a lone wolf draws nigh,
howling a mournful plight

Its howl speaks of cold rain
and sad stories of yesterday
It speaks of numbing pain
and joys that never stayed

Its eyes, wide pools of tears
tell the tale of lonely years
Its weakened body, limping along
a tell-tale sign of things gone wrong.

Poignant poetry.

"It speaks of numbing pain
and joys that never stayed"

As an empathic, I feel the wolf's pain, can hear the mournful howl.

Love this sad plight from the wolf's point of view, Fizzle.

I'd enjoy this any time... but since I'm currently reading a book about wolves, it's particularly poignant. Well done!
