Buried too deep
Spring has come
     and come again
Without warmth
     penetrating
My protective shell

Bloom is but a dream
Rot should have
     claimed, withered
Delicate shoots
     of green impertinence
Into dusty brown

But here I am
And I swear
I feel the sun

Glad to see that the springtime's new sun is penetrating that protective shell of yours!

May your green shoots burgeon with life, and hope, and joy! ~ because you deserve all the best, my dear friend!

Love and a sunny, springy hug!

The trilliums popped up yesterday, and they are pretty smart.
I think there's hope for warmth very soon!

Oh boy, I can relate to this. Beautifully penned Ruth. Even those of us who thought we had thick crusts still have hope to bloom again. You bet we do! Loved this.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

This:
Bloom is but a dream
Rot should have
     claimed, withered
Delicate shoots
     of green impertinence
Into dusty brown

and ended with:
But here I am
And I swear
I feel the sun

VERY nice. Liked this.

Such fine writing - again, I am glad to have reached back through the pages I have not visited yet.  Often too many jewels are tucked away.

suthern - I thought this to be a poetic gem. Like a seed covered by earth hoping for sun, each of us when covered by the daily grinds of life looks for some sun and its warmth to regenerate. Thanks for your deft poetic hand creating a beauty. Loved it Namyh
