All these smells of coffee
entered my head
the same way as the flowers of Atlanta,
the same way as the distant bars of Knoxville,
the same way as the loving legs of the girls of louisville,
(Do you know Jennifer Lawrence ? she is from Louisville too)
the same way as bus stations
and unexpected stops of the sun,
all these smells of coffee in transparent cafeterias,
in the warm houses of Tennessee
entered my head
to make me look like the world.

Yann the Man ~ I love how you reflect the world around you through your 'real' poems! In fact, you ARE the world! Have a cup of Java on me! Cheers, mon ami, cher!

Love 'n a hug,

Yo Yann,

Knoxville was an interesting town when I came through it fifty years ago.  I remember all the neon signs along the road.  Neon all over the place.

Even as a non coffee drinker I appreciated this. I find the aroma of coffee to be wonderful only to be disappointed at the taste. Your poem, however, did not disappoint.

Yann, I like how you've captured a mundane moment and brought it to life; for me, that's what poetry is all about. A charming, sensually-rich piece.

Thank you David I don't like taste of coffee without some buttered french baguette, but I enjoy very much its perfume...I never found the reason of the smells of coffee in air in all a neighbourood, I presumed there was a coffee factory there.
