Shafts of warm amber sunlight
stream softly past curtains
pulled to welcome the morning.
Potted plants on the windowsill
awaken, stretch to greet the day.

A spirited song sparrow serenade
surrounds the neighborhood
with emphemeral sounds
only nature bestows
upon anxious listeners.

It is spring.

The world still spins,
graciously bathes each soul
in the eternal gifts of Sol.
Immerse your senses,
cherish the moment.

Yo dear Kacy,

Indeed it is the first day of Spring.  I hope everyone is up for it.  Here in the hood we're sure to be.

We do have potted plants here, we're ready.

Love Bobby

Though the thermometer was reading 28F, the sun was beginning to warm the windows by 8 AM.
Happy spring, Bobby.

Ahhhh, lovely, Kacy!  We, here, are sliding into Autumn, but our Winters are so much gentler than yours.

I enjoyed basking in your poem so much and I can imagine what it must do for those still dragging their feet through the remnants of Winter!

Not only is it the Springtime of the seasons - but also the Springtime of your recovery - and this poem is a delicately magnificent celebration of both!  I love your poem for all of the possible reasons!  Your muse is doing you proud!  Thank you for sharing your happiness with us!

I especially love the ending:

"warm amber sunlight...

nature bestows...

...the eternal gifts of Sol.
Immerse your senses,
cherish the moment."

applause for this seasonal 'penning' that
so effectively "Springs" to the occasion!

Beautiful! You describe our nice balmy weather here in Florida. We had a bad winter for us. This yard is all down and we are now cutting out the dead branches of most of the bushes. Some are just gone. I have never  seen all the plantings so sorry as this year. I have been here for twenty years now. Connecticut was cold and we got spoiled here. But I won't complain becaue I did not have to shovel snow since I left Ct. Thank you,  late

Owlie, it's still cold here at night. Have a great autumn!
Bruce, glad you enjoyed!
Sharon, it's till below freezing temps at night here too.
Late, bedragled bushes, eh? LOL. Hope you have a good year, without too much wild weather.

Thanks for letting me share theses Sol gifts with you. It is still below freezing temps at night, but at least the sun shows its face each AM, and happy birds are singing Spring from treetops and telephone lines every morning now.

Kacy..."Cherish the moment"  So many gifts in a moment go unnoticed...thank you for this reminder.

Your poem reminded me of a song from long ago called Mocking Bird Hill.  You're probably too young to remember it, but I enjoyed the thoughts of it, reminded by your pen.

Linda, hugs to you!

Martie? I do remember that one, sung by Patti Page!
"Tra-la-la, twiddly-dee-dee
It gives me a thrill
To wake up in the morning to the mockingbird's trill
Tra-la-la, twiddly-dee-dee
There's peace and goodwill
You're welcome as the flowers on Mockin' Bird Hill

When the sun in the morning
Peeps over the hill,
And kisses the roses 'round my windowsill
Then my heart fills with gladness
When I hear the trill
Of the birds in the treetops on Mockin' Bird Hill"

Thank you, Suthern, for your comment.
