what dangers doth the wind foretell
beware, beware
beware the huntsman's snare
that guards dark path to forest's dell

'mid pillared aisles of mighty oak
in soothing balm of new day's dawn
in silent graze passed doe and fawn
when from afar, north wind bespoke

a speckled fawn in terror fled,
mother trapped in huntsman's snare,
beware, beware,
a north wind blew as forest bled.

It's more a marksman and a bullet, aimed at a stag, these days, but I appreciate your thoughts.

I enjoyed your poem Tim but I gave up
hunting a long time ago. I have become a lot more conservation conscious as I left my youth behind. well written.
