Bones has this
shop teacher
at high school.

The shop teacher
has a weird, perverted
sense of humor.

Bones despises him.
Of course,
Bones despises all teachers,
and he hopes they despise him.

The shop teacher
has a little hand crank
magneto.

He hooks it up to
two long copper tubes.

He has his shop students line up,
holding one of the copper tubes
in each of their hands.

The shop teacher turns the crank.

One by one,
the students stop holding
the copper tubes.

Finally, only Bones remains.
Bones isn’t going to let go.
He’s not going to let
this creep beat him.

The teach gives up,
and stops turning the crank.

He tells Bones
that Bones is crazy,
and someday,
Bones is going to get
in real trouble,
and hurt himself.

Bones just smirks.

Bobby

Sounds like Bones is not the only crazy one here.

Robert

Your poems always interest and provoke me.  You write simply and well.

You'd like Simon Armitage I think.  His "Very Simply Topping up the Brake Fluid" reminds me of this a little in its converstaional style.

Thanks.

Thanks dear Ida,

Let's remember, Bones is my alter ego, and he's not crazy.

I wasn't about to let that shop teacher beat me.

Thanks Moonbeam,

I'll have to try out Simon Armitage.  I'm not familiar with his work.

I'm pleased that you like the way I write.  That's very kind of you.

Little did the teacher know that Bones could have taught the class if pain was on the curriculum!!

Bobby, in my opinion, this one rates among your best pieces. The narrative is engaging. And I sure can empathise with these lines:

Bones despises him.
Of course,
Bones despises all teachers,
and he hopes they despise him.

Thanks dear Suthern,

What you say is very true.

I never thought of it that way, however what that teacher was dishing out was really small potatoes.

Thanks Mark,

I'm very pleased that you enjoyed the poem, and that you can empathise with those lines.

It's good to know that Bones is not alone.

Bones already knows about real trouble more than teach knows so that's not gonna bother him.
He is tough all the same. Those cranks can dish out some unpleasant voltage.

Thanks Eric,

You have that right.  I remember gritting my teeth, but I beat the creep.

Thanks for the kind words on Bones.

Thanks Yann,

I'm pleased that you don't despise Bones.  Many teachers do.

You might be one of the rare good ones that are on Bones side.  I hope so.

Hmm, who's the teacher, here? Methinks Bones taught him a lesson instead of the other way around!!!

Thanks dear Linda,

Yes, this is one that Bones won.  It was a constant war of us against them.
