Listening to every heart

0 posted 2009-03-17 03:06 PM

I welcome thee softly

come pleasant
come in haste
arrive tonight
quarter of eight

and I will welcome thee
into my humble home
my abode
where I abide
astride
a dreamer’s ride
and where heaven
is waiting for thee

O come
come soon
‘neath light of moon
under late winter’s sky
so I won’t cry

but rather

in the firelight
in the hue of gold
chasing the cold
and playing some
bold

come to me

seek my soul
safely shoal
all my fears
dry my tears
with silk so sheer

it takes your breath away

see me now
as I welcome you
for I have sought you

until you were found
right….here….

if I were to ask
no unpleasant task
but with emerald eyes
silently crying
your name

would you hear me

and feel the desire
the growing fire
on pillows pyre
and never tire

of the welcome that I give thee.

Would thee come,
to feel safe
be deemed content
soon after such caress
is duly spent
and in the solitude
of two
that became one

would you touch this welcome
in my heart

welcome the know of you
in this heart

as I have long welcomed thee
within?

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Thanks dear Sunshine,

It's always good to get a message such as this from a good Quaker lady.

Beautifully penned, Milady; whispering like silk down the page... but then, I should be used to that by now; it describes everything you post here for our delectation.

Great rhythm to this warm, welcoming poem.

What man could resist?
