'Dear daddy,' said the wide eyed child,
"Please answer this for me.'
The father bent his head and smiled;
"I'll answer happily."

"Dear daddy," said the child and sighed,
"Why are we on this earth?"
The father thought and then replied,
"A miracle of birth."

"Dear daddy," said the child again,
"Please, why do people die?"
The father struggled to explain;
"So life can multiply."

"Dear daddy," said the child with care,
"Will I grow up like you?"
The father scratched his greying hair,
"No, you'll grow up like you."

David,

It's good to see you back.  I just popped in for a quick look and had to smile.  And, once again, you have written a poem that flows beautifully.  I like the father-child exchange also.

Welcome back.

Very good.
I enjoyed the father child conversation and the way you put it across.

Love that ending.

Welcome back, David! I enjoyed this conversation. There are no easy replies to those questions. Good for us that children seem to understand us better than we do ...

Love,
Margherita

A positive reply! Honor the individual.

Great to see you posting again, David! This is a gem of a write! ~ but then, that is to be expected from a poet such as yourself!

This was very charming. A warm father/daughter interaction that ended on a wise and honouring note. Well done!!!

Giving you a warm, welcome-back hug,

Linda

Hey, Dave,  Good to see your smiling face,  I have missed you.

I will also use this sage advice in rearing my young one.

Well done.
