Paid Forward
By Larry Chadwick
Remembering Ginger

I planted the seeds
that now bloom
with memories
that we nurtured
way
back
when.

When
you were
little
and I
was young.

Back when
we read of
Winnie the Pooh,
often.

Now I
reap
the reward
of what I didn’t know
then.

How delightful
that
Winnie the Pooh
sits
in the corner
and reminds me
of you.

I liked
being
your
dad.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

How funny it is that all these wonderful  little things are so important to us and jog our memories.  Beautiful memory Larry.

Larry,

I do so like this.  Ginger must have been pretty special to inspire you with this poem.

Thank you for sharing.

This one started out simply, and quietly, and I'm at the office and I'm trying not to cry.

That is one cute poem Larry, it brought back memories of me when I was a little boy sitting in the corner reading 'Winnie the Pooh'. Thanks Larry.

Having a very young son, and in my 50's I so worry that I may not be here to see him become the man I wish him to be.

I liked your poem in a very sad and knowing way.

Well written   WT.

Dear Sharon,
It is indeed very pleasant. It does put a smile on your face. Thanks.

Dear Alison,
Well not that I'm biased but she brings back many fond memories. Thanks.

Ah Susan,
It is a challenge to live only with our memories. I find it precious to know that you were a daddy's girl.

Dear Dixie,
But we are not empty handed.

Dear Nan,
Sorry about that! I just shared this with Nancy and she burst into tears. What kind of talent is that?

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Dearest Karen,
Dads. Guess we wouldn't exist without them! It's a nice bonus that they like us too. And thank you sweet lady.

Lindsay,
Thanks. It is pleasant to recall.

WT,
Thank you. This is about my daughter who died at 28 almost seven years ago. It's a fond memory for me but sad that we can't make anymore memories.

Hey Bill,
Thank you kind sir. It's always a pleasure to be read by you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Just hugs, Larry!  The heart tends to the deep rooted love that blooms and grows forever.

Ya made my eyes water, and you made me smile.

~ indeed, you did.

Both you and Ginger were blessed to have the other for the precious years you were able to share together. Not only did you have a daughter to be proud of ~ she had a father to be proud of as well. God bless you both.

Love & Eternal Light,
Linda

Heart hugs to you, my friend. Those last words are heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time... she was as lucky to have you for a dad as you were to have her as a daughter.

Dear Bluesie,
What a kind friend you are. I do miss being able to talk. I pray all is well and thank you.

Dear linda,
Thank you for such generous words.

Ruthie,
Well now that's a feeling I know quite well. Bless you and hugs back.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
