Forever In Your Heart

0 posted 2009-03-11 07:57 PM

Once there was beauty,
painted in the open sky,
colors so bright, vivid,
pleasure to the naked eye,

but beauty could not last,
only for a season of time,
death never came to the past,
bumping the future out of line.

what a splendid birth born,
two loves , two souls, connected,
melting slowly into one,
hearts became broken, unprotected,

piece by piece layers were torn,
destroying the souls center core,
death, death, to loves newborn,
as I became loves past door.

what are these hands grasping?
pulling me under, like weeds,
smothering me, choking, clasping?
evil, poisoned seeds,

I ate them, everyone, slowly,
now I lay here, soul dying,
colors fade to black and white,
darkness falls as sun turns to night,

beauty that once was, now has faded,
hearts full of hope become jaded,
Love that has lived, prepares to die,
to the unanswered question of why?

VERY powerful and emotive 'write'!...

especially:

"beauty that once was, now has faded,
hearts full of hope become jaded,
Love that has lived, prepares to die,
to the unanswered question of why?(!)"

I too wish to know the answer to
the ever-elusive ending question!

much applause for this 'penning'!

Well, I haven't read your writing for a very long time.

Unfortunately if you could answer the question at the end of your poem you wouldn't be human.
Strange how it goes isn't it?

However, that first feeling is an addiction that can't be explained making hearts wilt by the thousands. Fortunately some of those hearts make it through and lovers grow.

Good writing you got it coming across very well.

There is always intense sadness at the knowledge of a love that is dying. You captured it.

Excellent.

Nice expressed on an age old topic of why.
No reason at all, I believe.
Just be blessed when it is here

Sometimes love doesn't go on and on... and you've painted its demise perfectly.

'life' ultimately is really nothing more than an ever-
lengthening queue of such 'unanswered questions' ...
[until the dying of the light]

but some 'illusions' are much finer than others!
