She turned away;
the cut of her hair
facing the brown terrace.

Her brown, sand hands
Sat alongside one another;
draped around the rain
that slid off of her cheeks,
scathing her lips,
and wetting the bottom half of her grey, wool sweater.

Her jeans; buttoned at top,
cut at the boot.
Stood firm, accenting her hips and legs,
like her eyes that caramelized the evening's pink skyline.

And with her stare,
alongside the silence of her hair,
she looked through her window.

Leaves me wanting to know what happens next.

Which, I feel is the mark of good writing.
