A solemn gray expanse is love,

an invisible sea—seething with hopefulness.

Unspoiled by praise, a tangle of inexpressable possibilities.

She curls her scarlet lips around vague inspirations,

she sings—a symphony harmonized with lonely vanity.

She gleams of sunlight, of fussy caperings sprayed by the sea.

She can waylay destiny and bid him to stand down and wait.

She can collapse into deep nameless sorrows,

unaware of the bitter glitterings of her dark silence.

This is love,

and the dreams and visions

of our star-hung nights are hers alone to shape.

James I didn't know love was female but I might have guessed because they have all those things I love to hold and squeeze...

and ahem, of course many intellectual things too....you know what I mean.(smile)

Interesting write.

however,at this point in time for me anyway, it certainly feels as if love is female.
