Dispersal

I left a while,
I withered, browned, husk remained.

Sitting at a cafe table
rustling in the breeze of passing cars,
I tried to divide into hundreds of thousands of spores,
to be dispersed to hundreds of thousands of places, not one,
not one, a cognizant thought, a single feel . . .

Coffee fills half an empty cup,
long cold liquid chaining me to the table
opposite the chair that was yours.
Truck whizzes by . . . I close my eyes;
Dispersal, at last.

Sounds like a truck stop in the middle of no where.
You set a vivid scene here and I enjoyed reading your work.

I'm glad to see you back, Jimmy. It has been a while but I see you haven't lost your touch.

Dear Jimmy, this is quite impressive and poignant, as so many of your works.

Hope you are doing fine! You better stay here and disperse your talent and sensitivity.

Love,
Margherita

...I love this line (and not just because it mentions coffee--though that does help)...I can relate...I've been there with that cold cup more that once...you've described the feeling perfectly

Poignant and powerful... excellent write!
