It’s a way cold
and snowy night.

Little Bones
is walking home
from a trick.

He’s walking through an alley.

Bones notices a lump
of something
lying on the side.

Bones is curious.

He walks over,
and notices
that it’s a man
lying there.

He shakes the man,
but gets no response.

The man appears stiff.

Bones runs home,
and tells Mom.

Mom tells Bones
not to worry about it.

“It’s cold,
and people
freeze to death.

He’ll be found.”

Bones thinks to himself.
“Someday that might be me.”

Bobby

Oh, my God! This is my very favorite of yours, dear Bobby!

"Someday that might be me!". Yes.

And still these killing cold winter nights are the final stations for so many. And it does not happen only in Philadelphia. Even in Rome, where the cold nights aren't so many! But the poor are often surprised by rigid weather ...

Love and thank you for this.

Bones remains a realist and gains wisdom from his harsh experiences.
Still, his heart showed up and he wanted to reach out and help.
The precious sides of Bones.

powerful read I wrote something similar, which I'll post sometime, but this poem is very true and well done. Who's bones?

For your kind words on Bones.

Thanks dear Ida,

You've got the word Hon, straight from Bones.

Thanks Zaxby,

Bones is my alter ego.  He's a young male prostitute.

I'm pleased the poem worked for you.
