Yawning

today the sun breeched grays captivity
so I ventured to the line of summer death
I sat in sorrow by the flowers grave
still aching in the casualty of the loss
I grieved the moons that had passed me by
yearning in the wants of absence
here I felt free of the prisoner walls
allowed again to breathe on breeze
day was muted painted in a yellow pale
the air around still colored winter chill
then through tears I saw a tiny miracle
it took a moment of disbelief for inspection
a green that had somehow surpassed the blight
yawning tenderly to touch the heaven
I found my heart running hastily to
bring a drink for this bone dry ground
laughing through my tears I blessed it
and spring baptized it the first hope

"I'm so hard to handle
I'm selfish and I'm sad."
— Joni Mitchell

H

This title could be about the time change - standard to daylight - yawn.
But it isn't, tho it is very much about time.
I am enjoying this, even while I too, yawn.

"today the sun breeched grays captivity"

~ From the very first line, I knew that I was in for the 'yawning' of a bright new day!

Thoroughly enjoyed!

May your spring be a glorious one!

...a beautiful description of nature's dawning...a 'yawning' to reach the heavens...nicely done...your word choices were excellent...didn't want it to stop...
