What should I do with a day like this?
It's windy, bare, the sky is gray.
Looking out from my lonely room,
I feel like sleeping it all away

day after day.

What should I do with a man like this?
Old, broken-down, unemployed,
laying on the couch, no food in the house,
no love there to fill the void

the cat is hungry and annoyed.

What should I do with a life like this?
Can't stay on the run for long,
praying they come get me soon
for the past things I've done wrong

keep singing the same old song.

What should I do with shoes like this?
Guess I'll keep them on my feet,
continue walking my own miles alone
till I get to the end of the street

"I'm really sorry we had to meet".

Yo dear Passing shadows,

You'll just have to handle it.  I'd start off by feeding, and pacifying the cat.

Love Bobby

I'm sincerely sorry you are feeling so much pain these days, Dixiedear.

I don't know what to do either. I just feel more urgency about doing something, since as I reflect on my own past, all of my worst decisions were a result of indecision, which feels like no decision, and finally rebels into a Decision...and it's just that proclivity that has made me a victim of me.

does that make any sense to you?

*smile*

I dunno either.

I just pick one thing I can change each day, and do it. Some days it means I just go for a walk instead of sitting here...and other days? I re-arrange the furniture.

Today, the livingroom--tomorrow The WORLD!

Have a hearthug, hon.

This is very sad. Every day brings the possibility of new choices, dear Dixie. If you deem the situation improvable, then act consequently. Our world displays in the way we visualize it. You have the power to change things.

Intense write, but so said.

Love and hugs.

passing,

forgive my feeble attempt to laud your write...

the barren sky will someday change
from a sullen gray to a hue of blue
and the wind will whistle a name-whirled tune
(you may never realize that it calls to you)

time after passing time
in life surreal
or perhaps sublime
like rounds on a spinning wheel

the nature of man is human I fear
broken, bruised, in hurt and pain
living life in the recesses of
worn out thoughts, nothing of gain

and someone will always be hungry
or simply hungry for
what you can never give them
in penalty or reward

and the same song keeps playing
as you walk the way of life
while the tune you whistle guides you
through both peace and life-lived strife

as far as the shoes go, keep them
for they surely do have sole
(there is a Carpenter Who can cobble them)
you won't need to walk alone

Dear Dixie, we all have roads we would rather not walk, but sometimes the time spent on them makes us realize things could be a lot worse, we change each day and try to cope with what we have changed into, where we would like to be might still be a dream, but keep dreaming and holding that vision in your mind and it will come true, believe me. Wishing you well my friend.

Hi Passing, I like that poem that seems to me an old country song, it could be song like a blues I guess...Thanks for sharing.
