Gloom Sonnet 09 07

There are times when I hear a song
That binds my life like I belong
And it tends to one of time now gone.

It will somehow stimulate my brain
To associate to old and new the same
Like an old picture in a brand new frame;
A melody beyond melancholy.

It might linger inside for a time
Perhaps to exit inside a rhyme,
A word, a phrase, or an added line.

I might hum it for all the day
Before it finally slips away
For songs are free and can not stay,
A melody beyond melancholy.

Gloom

I really love this, Professor. See... you are not all gloom.

Hi Professor, at 51 I return to my teen age songs (something I didn't do during 25 years) and listen the old music of 60s and 70s, it bring me solace and I agree that songs cure a lot...Thanks for the thoughtful poem.

Beautiful, dear Professor Gloom!

Melodies are great channels for memories, no doubt.

Love,
Margherita
