Surely Not

Until death do us part
Is what you said to me
For better or for worse
I stood by you always

Look at us now, dear man
You are there, and I am here alone
Oh how it hurts to recall
Those first few years

You were the love of my life
Still, you broke my heart
A heart that will never mend
That is the way it seems to me

I gave you all the love
I had inside me to give
Never have I loved another
The way I had loved you

To give my heart away again
I don’t think I can ever do
I so needed the love you had
Once so freely given to me

Here I sit wanting so much
To feel the love I once felt
Sometimes, I ask myself
If my heart will ever truly mend

I often ask myself
What is this thing called love?
Does it always hurt that bad?
Then, I tell myself, surely not

most of us get through...

but I won't pretend it doesn't hurt...
My first husband and I were married 19 yrs. Three children together.  We have 2 grandchildren now and a third on the way..we should be enjoying those babies together...

we are not.  Because he chose something else.

Bitter is a small piece of my soul.  And maybe it always will be...but I am okay.

Sure can hurt can't it?
Love is really tricky stuff and it's treacherous. The heart is such a seat of emotion that it rules the whole body when love strikes it.

Very nicely done I sure enjoyed the read.

A rather sad but poignant poem my dear,

It touches the heart strings but one day the sun will shine again for you.

A big warm hug for you dear Sue.

I remember my first car, I loved it and washed it and took care of it, then it broke down and I tried to fix it, over and over again, It got to the point of costing me more, monitarily and physically, not to mention mentally, and I found I didn't love it as much as I did in the beginning,  Then I saw it,  My next love, she was hot, fast, sexy, and I wanted her bad.  I fell in love all over again.  and I married her.  She had a really nice car, Too,

The heart is just like the rest of your physical body,  It has this remarkable ability to heal itself.

GO find you a new car.

WT.
