“I wear it for you,” she whispered

to no one, and no where, all the while
gently rubbing the black and blue.

Of all the years and people in between
some things never change;
just leave different marks.

“I bear it for you,” she fingered

in the air, to an audience of none, as she
rubbed her chest where hope use to beat.

That one hurt her body,
But this one, this one, broke her heart.

Taking with it, the sanity she use to think
was too strong to fall apart.

Yo dear Susan,

My crude upbringing taught me never to strike a woman.  That's the way all men should be taught.  It's just not the thing to do.

It's a shame that the hospitals are full of such cases.

Anyway, stay away from creeps like that.

Love Bobby

I really have nothing to say about this one except for this:

"Sadly, things like this happen far too much"

Not much else to say about it.

Susan, you have worded this so well,
in a way that pierces the heart.

EXCELLENT/('important') powerfully emotive write!

As I have stated in the past, I GRANDLY applaud
such talented authors who can do 'reality' [social
impact/conscience] 'pennings' so effectively!

Susan, this one hurts and brings
back so many memories of my own.
I can feel the pain in here.

So good to read you again. By the
way, I love the photo!
Hugs,

Yanno, I am always amazed at the number of wonderful replies I get...especially since I am so remiss in replying to others..

Thank you so much for caring and sharing and taking the time for me.

Susan - I read this poem with sadness and also anger. No one should be treated like you write this. Wish you well...

~ And Susan, your sensitive rendering of this far too common scenario, was exceptionally well done.

This one is so emotionally powerful to me.
I don't know why, but it just packs a punch.

I'm glad I found this.
