          endless winter

outsideā€¦

shrill winter winds serenade
a cold, thin ice-moon climbing
leaden clouds that threaten
to fall from the frozen sky

insideā€¦

dead  heart, hearth,
and vacant chair
as final companions

Yo Secondhanddreampoet,

Our northern and southern brothers and sisters seem to be able to handle it.  I'd just as soon not.  I couldn't take it.

I'd have to ditto Susan, this reads bleak indeed, though it's fine stark winter imagery!

there is the right word... stark.
exactly but you paint a picture so well, and put me "right there" to see it

One who conceives such exquisite poetic thoughts, can't ... I repeat ... can't have a dead, cold heart.

Who do you think inspires you like this, dear Bruce?

Angels walk with you
they whisper into your ears
of Nature's beauty

Love,
Margherita

I think Margharita must be right, Bruce.
You have a special gift.
