Luna
(moth)

)(
Luna
dressing in her threads of silk enweaved with eyes that
spread like stars upon her velvet wings enticed the legs of
crickets sing a waltz of love, a melody to draw one out
so they might see her rising up from her cocoon
to dance in silhouette with moon who
holds her close from dusk till
dawn while  glowing with
her on      and on.

I will never forget the first time I saw a Luna moth. I was enthralled for hours just watching it. Finally got the camera out and took the picture. Thanks for reminding me. latearrival

Wow, you surprise me again with this beauty, dear Bob!
Wonderful and though the color green (chartreuse) isn't easy to read it is indeed its color and you have honored it by using it.

I have never seen a luna moth, but went on google and found some awesome pictures.

You are quite the artist!

Love,
Margherita

Nice job Bob, I couldn't possibly put all the IBC tags on this to get it to look like you have here.

Very nice.

You know Bob, I have never seen one of these, but you did it proud.  I had to research it, and low and behold it lives in the East.  I will NEVER forget sitting in Kit McCallum's backyard and seeing a firefly for the first time, I was like a kid trying to catch them.  Here is a picture of that night for you to see

I can't image seeing of of these in person!  Isn't nature just the greatest?

Beautiful in poetry and presentation.  Here is the link for others like me that never heard of these moth.

Luna Moth

Has anyone here seen one?  They are absolutely beautiful.

latearrival,

I am very happy that my poem planted within you such a special seed of reminiscence. The time, the Luna moth, the moments shared, the photographs all seem so-so very lovely and I do thank you for sharing a bit of your experience here with me.  Thank you.

Margherita,

Ahhhhh, thank you for being so surprised and for your believing that I am ‘quite the artist’ and such with my color choices and all while, however, in fact, the colors pretty much came about on their own accord or, in other words, I really had very little control over what colors I did end up with here, but, I guess, that does make me even more appreciative that you liked them, because, hummmmm, that means someone other than myself has some idea what they’re doing (smiles).  God bless.

turtle,

WoW! Thanks a bunch for noticing and, yeppers, I admit, it IS quite the challenge, but, hey, it’s Great brain stimulation and, besides, you, sometimes, get a bit of appreciation like what you’ve given here. Again, thank you.

Mysteria,

Well, then, I guess, I’ll have to tell you that I have never seen one of these either, well, until someone read my last poem about ‘the moon’ and thought that it was about ‘a moth’ (A moth! How could they? Smiles) and, then, well, it inspired me to research in the very same way that you’ve done and, hummmmm, like you, after seeing the lovely pictures and reading a bit about the Luna, I was inspired, even the more, to write a poem about her and, oh, yes, I agree, I guess, out of conviction, now, before this life is over, in order to see one in person, I’ll need to take a trip over to the East (smiles).  Loved the picture of the fireflies (wow, look at their different colors) and, hummmmm, also, I noticed you’ve discovered the ‘Gigi’ font. Good job. God bless you and, as always, thank you for your kind reply.
