A conversation on life
...........................
: Where were you yesterday?
The phone had been dead cold!
: Busy, you can say.
: You? In what may I ask?
: Dear, of course you can.
: Then I am. I want to know.
: Busy in living a life.

Life is a piece of loaf
soaked in the milky tea
which he is sucking
forever, forever-
sucking till the last drop
and cannot let it go
or break his habit
to keep on living.
: I have got the job.
: My congratulation.
Congratulations
are sparkling fireworks
he has kept from the early childhood,
saving for a day of bells and cheers,
a day worthy in truth.
Of course such day keeps being delayed.
The soggy fireworks only burn
and leave a trail of smoke to follow
and find the sleeping child inside,
sleeping eternally.
: Well?
: Well!
The well in his house at back home
where his birth was greeted
by laughing women joyfully uttering lewd jokes
in the ears of a young father-
had been dried one summer.
His brother found the bed of the pit
and they found him one day too late.
: Why is it difficult to whisper goodbyes?
: Because it may be the only thing
  we are to remember.
The living is a road on a mountain
all leading to one peak
where every living beings shall someday meet.

Yo Poddarku,

Your conception of an afterlife is as valid as any.

You've done nice work on this poem.

Kushal, I can feel the heavy-heartedness in this, and it saddens me.  Your beautiful stream-of-consciousness poem is a good way of releasing the aches of reality of the dark side.  I will pray that you soon are warming yourself at the communal camp-fires of the sunny side.  A white butterfly is trying very hard to lighten your burdens and make you smile, long, deep, inwardly and outwardly.

Dearest Ku, in surrendering to what is, we go on living in wonder for life itself, even when melancholy and sorrow mingle with joy.

To read you is to touch life and its intrinsic emotions very closely. You are a most beautiful poetic voice.

Love and hugs.

I felt as though I was eaves-dropping in on a very intimate conversation. You draw the reader into the realm of whatever you are writing about. That takes talent ~ and you have that in copious amounts. I also enjoyed reading the responses that your 'conversation' engendered ~ especially Midnitensun's and OWL's.
