Caverns Of Gold

There is a place below the ground
Where you can hear a tapping sound
Deep within the mother earth
This place is filled with joy and mirth

Here the little dwarfs do dwell
Out of sight as you can tell
The little tapping sound you hear
Is mining for their jewels so dear

They celebrate their daily find
With feasts of the most delicious kind
Eating meat and drinking wine
There inside their diamond mine

Piles of jewels are stacked about
Each one they find they give a shout
In those caverns lined with gold
Lies wealth of every kind I’m told

Each place you look's a precious gem
They say that there are tons of them
More wealth than you could ever save
Is lying there within that cave

Someday while they are fast asleep
I’ll sneak into that cavern deep
So quietly and all alone
I’ll get some diamonds of my own

I hope that they don’t capture me
For if they do, my friend, you see
You won’t be seeing me around
‘Cause I’ll be tapping underground

What a fun read! It would be such an adventure to follow little dwarf-people!

I'll buy a share of that gold mine.  This was a fun verse--but when you sneak down there, I'll stay behind and be lookout, okay?

Aw what a nice read. Truly enjoyed it, smiled the whole time I read it.
