What is vengeance? say the meek, What is this ruin that you seek? Put your trust in arbitration, Misaligned truth, procrastination, They say that sure as day is long That God will judge the right from wrong, They say accept and bow your head Lest you be judged when you lie dead. The strong say vengeance: honour’s word, Valour by the axe and sword, Justice dispensed to vindicate Your soul from ignominious fate, No doom is carved in runes of stone True right and wrong are in your bones, Your path is yours alone to choose, The strong are by the weak misused.
