It is different this year
For the hole is hand stitched
With the thread that I lost
Then re-found and re-fit

And the tear covered fingers
Of hand to the face
Are changing the vacancy
To knowledge and grace

Can you see how the empty
Really waits to be filled
And the fabric of time
Is sewn with heart’s skill

And the sweet smell of sunshine
Still hangs on the fence
Within the lost pages
Of life’s circumstance

So don’t worry my darling
Where ever you are
Is a minute just now
And then gone but not far

So the road may seem empty
When the skin feels the cold
But the weight of my heart
Is the blanket you hold

The change of time guard comes after a while and things appear different though never over and we become our own teachers within.

Wonderful expressions my dear flower girl friend. Glad to see you reflecting this way.

Martie, I have not the words, to adequately express how truly beautiful I find yours. Just know that my wanting to tuck this poem away for safe-keeping, illustrates how much I have been moved by this out-pouring of love for Michelle and the gradual healing of your wounded heart.

God bless your little angel ~ and her mother!

Love & Eternal Light,
Linda

Yo dear Martie,

This is a beautiful and fitting poem.  My heart goes out to you Hon.

I'm 72, and was lucky enough not to lose any of my four children.

I just hope I don't outlive them all.  At the rate I'm going I might.

Love Bobby

Keep warm in your heart with this blanket.

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Martie, I was waiting for your February poem to your beloved daughter.  This exquisite rendering of your heart has my shoulders shaking with noisy, blinding, exhausting sobs.  Words escape me.

Hugs, tears and love

I don’t know how to explain this feeling of such sadness, and such love, both at the same time. It’s indescribable. All I know is that I’m feeling it, right now.

I’m trying to think back of an emotion that has made me feel this way before, but right now, I just can’t, and how could I. I don’t have any words my dearest Martie, for this warm and tender shawl for your most dearest and loved Michelle.

The conveyances for such sympathies have just not been drafted yet, nor may they ever, as it probably should be.

Much, much, love to you and yours my dear friend.

Oh, I loved these words the very, very mostest because they are soooooooo full of deep, deep reconciliation and faith. God bless you and Michelle, today, I pray,

Dear Martie - What a beautiful and moving poem!  One can question so many things in life but certainly not your love for Michelle.  It's a love that will open the doors to so much more in the future.  There is a future, Martie.  We all join you in your remembrances of Michelle.

Martie,

I have grown to care for Michelle through your poetry.  That says a lot about her - and it says a lot about you as a poet.  This is beautiful, very beautiful.

Such a beautiful tapestry you paint in your blanket ....

-----------------------------------------------
And the sweet smell of sunshine
Still hangs on the fence
Within the lost pages
Of life’s circumstance
-----------------------------------------------
The above verse is golden and then you give us this wrap it up

---------------------------------------------
So the road may seem empty
When the skin feels the cold
But the weight of my heart
Is the blanket you hold
---------------------------------------------
As beautiful as you and your heart.

this is a really lovely write, my favorite part being:

"And the sweet smell of sunshine
Still hangs on the fence
Within the lost pages
Of life’s circumstance"

...very nice
