The Imposable Task

When the moon is red
just over my head
and darkness covers as ink,
when everyone’s running
and soldiers are gunning
down everybody they meet,
when winds begin howling
and death begins prowling
at every nodding and wink,
when mountains are crumbling
and wounded are stumbling
like drunkards into the street,
when Saints are appearing
as end is soon nearing
and I have no time to think,
when Christ has arrived
and I have survived,
perhaps, THEN, I might do this feat
of turning off the TV.

Smiles,
Lighthouse Bob

You brought smiles with your conclusion, dear Bob!

To live in awareness and not wasting our time is an art. TV is one of those means that need to be "diluted" in order not to be poisonous, I guess. Too many bad news make fear grow and that is the opposite of what we need, for we need love to grow.

Thank you for a great poem.

Love,
Margherita

How true...imagine how life was when times
were so simple...Do you remember those days?

Margherita,

I agree with you whole heartedly about a couple of points that you've mentioned here; First, I agree with you that, though it may seem contradictory, television does have the tendency to take one out of awareness because, in some ways, when watched too often, it does seem to have a tendency to dictate rather than promote discovery and, hummmmm, of course, in that it being Valentines Day and all, I do agree with you whole heartedly about the need for Love. God bless.

Magnus,

(Smiles) Do I remember? Well, now, I guess it depends if you are talking about before the automobile or before the mortgage crisis? Anyway, back to television, I did live  on this earth without TV, by choice, not because the television had not been invented yet, and, yes, it did seem, to me anyway, that I did have more time with family and, yes, also, perhaps, I did have more time to take  part in the more 'simple things' of life. Thanks for asking.

-Bob
