The flower blossoms in the night,
summer is gone, winter is nigh,
yet, one lone flower sits in sight,
the frozen ground its roots do lie.

Bitter winds make the air,
frozen, biting, and painful,
yet, the flower stands tall and fair,
its colors stand bright in the winter dull.

The sun rises, the flower withers,
the snow melts, the grass turns green,
the air warms, robins return hither,
the winters bitter sins wiped clean.

Yet, ho', the valiant flower,
lays smitten, dead, crushed, forgotten

All things strive against the cruel wrath of element and time. A great poem.

Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told.
