Primula

*

Her golden petals beckoned
like flashlights through morning mist.
Eager buds pressed their way
towards the warm kiss of sunrays.
I dared to get close with my nose
to inhale the fragrance of Spring.
And instantly I intensely relived
those precious moments of the past
which are still bearers of truth.
I found myself transformed
into the happy little girl who danced
among smiling yellow flowers
upon the green green lawn of youth.

The imagery is stunningly beautiful! And the memories of my own youth, trekking through a field of wild flowers in spring, is as real as today's sunrise! Thanks for another splendid read, Margherita; my multitasking is off to a great start!

Yo dear Margherita,

I'm sure they are very nice.

I've always rather preferred the "human side walk flowers" of my youth.

Beautiful! I love that flower, it always seem so cheerful and 'happy' to be allowed to bloom.

I am always awed by the simple beauty of your complex poetry. Margharita.

You have brought Spring so so much closer, very nice

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

Beautiful from beginning to end and here is hoping that the little girl in you never grows up.  I especially liked the following lines...

-----------------------------------------------
Her golden petals beckoned
like flashlights through morning mist.

-----------------------------------------------
those precious moments of the past
which are still bearers of truth.

Ahhhhhh, smiling yellow petal dreams of youth. Well, now, I'm almost for certain that I can nearly see the Primulas saluting you for your bright and beautiful rendition of them. Yep, there they are, they're saluting you, indeed. God bless, my friend,

-Bob

I love them and this is the time of year we usually spruce up for spring with them, but the weather has not been co-operating here.  I love the idea of "yellow petals of my youth" and that line got me.

Beautiful picture and wonderful words as usual, Margherita.  We are inclined to stop "dancing" as we age but it's such a pity.  Let's revive the dance of youth!

Margherita,

This is lovely and I love it because it is so lovely.

Love,
Alison (who overused variations of the word "Love" because I love that word)
