What future comes to greet
In the name of the poor and weak?
Will we receive that which we seek?

Who can in reflection truly see
That the past the future will be
And fiat money is never free,
What will become?

How can spending set things right
When it shines as a broken light
That can not turn back approaching night?

Throwing paper at coming depression
And propel us all into inflation
As the leaders prey on our emotion,
What will become?

Gloom

The situation is rather gloomy, Professor Gloom.  I cope by thinking that come what may, something more substantial than money and material prosperity, will remain, upon which we can rebuild. And learn from the lessons of history, again? I wonder . . .

Your poem is thought provoking and timely.

Gloomy, yet timely, thoughts, Professor.
It is as though modern life as we know it, is falling away to make way for the building of a new order based on fundamentals, a solid foundation, ethics, and principles. May God help us all.

I second EA's opinion.
In less there is more, trust.
We must learn to BE, more than to HAVE. And it will save our Mother Earth and bring new wellbeing for ALL.

You are true to your name, dear Professor Gloom. Today the sun shines, sending you a sunny hug.

Love,
Margherita

I stew a lot over the future and whether it can be met or not.

as someone who's currently been laid off - I can't help but wonder what's around the next corner.  Should I take whatever job I can find ?  Should I go back to school and get into more debt untill the economy stabilizes and there are more job opportunities?
