Curmudgeon

Unsure of this word, to the dictionary I did go.
They say the origin is unknown, but it dates back to the
year of 1577.
So unkind the dictionary.
A mean grasping person, who is a cheeseparer.
If not a cheeseparer a churl he be.
They say he is a crusty ole coot, ill-tempered and a lout.
They say he is a vulgar person, a boor, an oaf, a cad,
a rude person, and a clod and besides all that indignity he is
a jerk.
He says he no gentleman, but I’m not so sure.
I have read his poetry, a man with a heart.
He has made us smile
and
made us want to thump him on the head.
He encourages the new fledgling writer with a gentle touch.
Like a father with leathered hands.
Reaching gently and leading a child to safety on mankind’s
wind swept shores.
A curmudgeon no not he.
Cause he writes beautiful poetry.

Hugs
BonBon

Yo dear BonBon,

This is excellent work.  In particular I was charmed by the last two line.

Keep up the good work Hon.

Love Bobby

A very fine poem. The late Cleveland Amory, TV critic and animal rights advocate, styled himself as "Your Curmudgeon at Large". He referred to this as being cranky and passionate about his pursuits.
